New Romance

NYFW is always full of fun and vibrant moments, although we couldn’t make it there this year here are some of our highlights so far of the fashion week! With Spring Summer 2015 collections in full blossom, there were many pure whites, pops of blues, oranges and of course our favourite floral prints. Kicking off our favourite list is our recent DIFORM fashion favourites.

HARARE NY

With an amazing grasp on fashion and taking New York by storm, Caroline Fuss the designer behind Harare NY gave us a glamorous Harare girl for NYFW showing her designs at the High Line Hotel. Mixing up tribal prints with summer-flavoured dresses in recycled denim, playful two piece combos and throwovers from scarves to kaftans. Followed by sleek asymmetrical dresses in textured blacks and a stand out deep blue flowing gown, showcasing an entirely new dimension of beauty to add to Caroline’s designer repertoire.

With bloggers like the Haute Pursuit falling in love with her designs, this young Canadian is simply captivating. Kaelen was selected to be 1 of the 10 designers to be featured in the
CFDA’s incubator program and her Spring Summer collection definitely shows why. Her collection has a spring buzz about it, featuring pure all white looks that ended on a botanical print long dress and shown at the High Line Hotel. Playing with feminine and masculine shapes, the collection was fresh, leaving you with an unwavering desire to purchase every piece from Kaelen’s collection!

Specializing in leather goods, Zana Bayne always goes up and beyond when it comes to leather, continuously changing the way you would wear your favourite leather top or jeans. There is no design too unconventional, experimental or too complicated for her to achieve. With stars and golden leather dresses, the collection was something not to be missed! With Rumer Willis in the crowd loving her designs, it would be a mistake to miss out on her to die for leather creations.

ISA ARFEN

One of our favourite New York designers Isa Arfen transported to you to a palm springs, relaxed shindig. Where the women sported oversized skirts, coats and sunglasses, the models lounged in bright reds, blues and white on holiday furniture with a rouge palm tree.
Like her previous collections the lines of each garment created a statement without being complex or ostentatious, I was particularly fond the long split overlapping skirts paired with the sheer check tees. Her approach to Spring Summer was definitely true the season’s essence but with that Isa Arfen twist, we have grown to love.

KOONHOR

This design duo raised in Indonesia and Singapore, brought a different element to NYFW working with oversized bucket hats with transparent PVC whilst the models were heavily coated and fringed. The collection plays with shapes mixing in a contrast of sporty masculine cuts, whilst amalgamating a slight feminine twist in the skirts and fringing. Their unique approach to design is what makes them so fascinating to watch, definitely a label to keep an eye on there are big things to come from them!
