Chelsea’s heart-throb Julius Cowdrey brings us his exquisite double release

Stunningly crafted delicate gems, singer Julius Cowdrey puts out his poignant double release. Entitled “If This Is Love (I Must Hate You)” and “Better Day”, the singles depict a trying time in Cowdrey’s life when the ones he loved and trusted the most disillusioned him. Sonically though, the songs contradict the theme of the music, transforming into positive and uplifting anthems.

“If This Is Love (I Must Hate You)”, produced by Benji Totten (Jorja Smith, Kate Stewart, Sasha Keable) and co-written with Jack Hawitt (Zak Abel, Karen Harding, Blue, Embody), showcases velvety vocals, profound, personal lyrics and glistening percussion. In straying away from typical love songs, he crafted a track masquerading as a tale of heartbreak, but really eluding to the music industry. Singing, “I won’t waste another day. Just a puppet in your game”, Cowdrey is all too familiar with the sharks that lurk in the waters.

Featuring immaculate falsetto flowing softly atop delicate piano, “Better Day” builds into an explosive chorus, carrying listeners on a deeply emotive journey. The striking track conveys downhearted feelings left behind from a broken relationship. “I never expected it to happen, but I got cheated on. I lived trusting her every action and without my knowing I became victim to huge disloyalty,” Cowdrey reveals.

British singer/songwriter Julius Cowdrey is most famously known as a star performer in the reality TV series Made In Chelsea. He eventually exited the show to pursue his true passion and has been making a name for himself as an artist ever since.
