Berlin Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is underway and within the flurry of the fashion excitement Hien-Le is going to bring another amazing fashion show for the fourth time. The Laos born designer’s love for fashion lead him to Berlin where he trained as a clothing tailor. Hien-Le continued to pursue fashion and graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin majoring in Fashion Design in 2008. In 2010 Hien-Le the independent fashion label was created and swiftly grew to new heights with his third collection that gained him the 3rd prize for the fashion competition “Start Your Fashion Business” in 2011. His pursuit of excellence didn’t stop there as his first runway show in Berlin Fashion Week was nominated by International fashion trade magazine Sportswear International as “Best Newcomer.”

Hien-Le’s label exudes minimalistic luxe that is available for both men and women which makes his label quite unique in that aspect; as each collection blends perfectly to create a harmonious unisex feel. So it is no shock to see all his recent success and 2014 is no exception for the designer. Each piece is created with discrete cuts and subtle application of details that highlight his workmanship that he gained from his previous fashion endeavors.

Hien-Le’s designs are not only eye-catching when walking down the runway, but each garment is made in Germany with a purpose as he explained in an Interview with I Wish U Shun.

Colours and materials are what define the collection. I am a very tactile person myself and so I only use materials that I would wear myself or which feel good to the touch. Above all it’s important that they are produced under fair trade conditions. Until now I have only ordered textiles from Europe, mostly from Switzerland and Italy, and for this season for the first time cloth from Australia. I buy all my textiles at trade fairs.” (Read the full interview on I Wish U Shun here)

His designs have been featured in Elle Magazine twice, WWD, Vogue.de, Grazia just to name a couple among the many magazines who adore his designs. From his first collection there has been an eager anticipation for his collections and he never disappoints, with his label in 2012 winning the Musikexpress Style Award and gained the opening fashion show spot in Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. It is only a testament to his designs that his label is now stocked in several stockists in the UK, Asia, Berlin and the US. As Hein-Le’s fashion empire grows bigger he is definitely one designer to keep a fashionista watch on at Berlin Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
