‘NEW EMERGING BRITISH HOMEGROWN TALENT

The British are here! And appear set to shake up the music industry, with many British solo artists making a prominent stand over the past four years. With the likes of Adele, Sam Smith, Lorde, Jessie J, Tinie Tempah just to name some UK solo artists that have had hit success both in the UK and the USA. It is obvious to see why all eyes and ears are on the UK music scene and Damien Ike is already on our lists of ones to watch.

‘A STYLE THAT WILL INDISPUTABLY KEEP YOU ABSORBED BY HIS MUSIC

This new emerging British home grown talent supported by SBTV, BBC 1XTRA,Complex Magazine, BBC Introducing, XFM, KCRW and Hype Machine, has already worked with the likes of Rich Cooper (Josef Salvat), Sacha Skarbek (Adele, Lana Del Rey & Miley Cyrus), David Kosten (Bat for Lashes, Everything Everything, Marina & The Diamonds) Pete Roberts (Coldspecks), James Earp (Bipolar Sunshine, Daniel James) & Steve Booker (Duffy, John Newman).

The release of his first online single ‘Kingdom Come’ instantly reached no.3 in the Hype Machine charts. ‘Even In War’ is the latest follow up single recently released. A mood shifting song with an electrifying chorus that sounds off the limitless talent we hope to hear more of in Damien Ike’s anticipated album. With a trace of Frank Ocean’s dark and elusive approach to music, together with the tones of UK urban soul singer Omar Lye-fookand Lighthouse family’s lead singer Tunde Baiyewu, can be heard in Ike’s distinguishing vocals. Leaving the listener with 90’s nostalgia fused with the movement of this generation.

Drawing influence from Kanye West, Dizzee Rascal and Adele to Terence Trent D’arby, Tears for Fears, Peter Gabriel, Everything Everything and Coldplay. Whilst adopting a dynamic alternative Soul/Pop/RnB sound, the Goldsmith’s University graduate from Shoreditch East London, delivers a style that will indisputably keep you absorbed by his music and we will be sure to keep our eye out for what this artist has in store for music over the coming months.
