ANISSA AIDA PRESENTS SS19 COLLECTION
Fashion week began yesterday and with it came all fashionistas, bloggers, PR’s, Editors, magazines, and even those that just preferred to have the official stamp that “I love fashion, fashion lovers”, arrived at the start of this seasons internationally celebrated fashion event where all focus is back on London.
From the more established branch of fashion attendees to the very new bambi-eyed first timers, we always know when the first day of fashion week has come. But with the many a fashion enthusiast and not to mention fashion connoisseurs, so too comes the who’s who of the NEWGEN of fashion designers, from the award winning, to the ultra-new ones to watch. And to spearhead the first day of the seasons London fashion week event, ANISSA AIDA presented a collection, not only wearable and refreshing in its form, but a runway that kept all eyes focused on the innocent simplicity of the designs within this seasons line.
Winning the 2016 ‘Ones To Watch Award, in Jan 2018 ANISSA AIDA, went on to being selected for the FIT Design entrepreneurs program at the Fashion Institute Of Technology in New York, together with being nominated for OpenMyMed Prize 2018 of Maison, her lines now stocked in New York, California, Paris, London and Tunisia, she now has been named by Forbes as one of the favourites this year for this seasons line.
With origins rooted in Tunisia, whilst advocating sustainability in fashion and the importance of slow-fashion, and with a mission to preserve cultural heritage, the quality within ANISSA AIDA’s designs that continues to gain interest in the designer is her ability to merge minimalism with an infusion of cultural diversity, to create collections which distinctly represent each of those influences whilst equally being unique within each style.
The SS19 Outre-Mer collection was a combination of exactly what ANISSA AIDA’s designs are becoming loved for. The very striking unity of the refreshing yet prominent blues together with anthracite and white, with its selection of neutral colors, when engaged with eastern symmetry within the style of her pieces, produced a beautifully novel collection this season that walked down the runway. Japanese Boro textiles and the use of patchwork within the collection, further confirmed ANISSA AIDA’s skill in uniting juxtaposing looks to create beautifully understated, classic, yet effortless designs.
Indicative of the designers use of eastern and western influences, ANISSA AIDA, through the use of hand woven silk and denim, stripes; all in line with her previous collections, this season presented a collection that mirrored an almost casual Monaco style – often referred to as very wearable style – some looks fitting, some relaxed, yet all diverse. Even with this collection having an overall natural tone, it still has the ability to be dressed up. ANISSA AIDA’s runway presentation brought excitement for what the rest of SS19 has in store and a great way to start off this seasons London Fashion Week.
